With reference to your letter of the 26th May, No.21827/20,
I have the honour to state that Mr.W.J.Harron has now asked
whether he can resume his appointment in the Hong Kong Police, and if so, what would be the conditions of service, pay etc. We shall be glad to receive the instructions of the Secretary
of State as to what reply should be made.
I would add that we have received a good report from
the Colonial Government of Mr.Harron's previous services, and that we still have to select five candidates to fill vacancies
force.
